Sales Development Representative (SDR) for SaaS Accounting Software

The Role:

The Resource Group is looking for an individual with enthusiasm and tenacity to join our marketing and sales team as the Sales Development Representative (SDR). The primary goal for a SDR is to generate qualified leads by calling prospects, maintaining and updating our CRM database, and assisting in marketing campaigns for new and existing clients.


  • Create relationships with potential customers to cultivate new business
  • Researches and contacts inbound leads to assess fit for products and services
  • Manages marketing qualified leads through follow up emails and phone calls
  • Maintains short and long term nurture programs through lifecycle of marketing qualified leads
  • Engages in outbound calls and emails to targeted lists of prospects
  • Uses CRM and Marketo to manage prospects, marketing lists and campaigns
  • Document detailed notes on leads and effectively communicates sales qualified leads to the sales team
  • Assist with marketing events by driving registration and helping with follow-up
  • Learn and understand solution offerings and vertical market targets with a focus on the value proposition we offer

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Highly proficient level of computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct extensive cold calls and email campaigns
  • Creative tactics to navigate org charts and reach the executive management of our target markets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to listen and ask intuitive questions
  • Understanding on how to leverage social media for potential new business

Nice to Have:

  • Experience using a CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics CRM or Salesforce)
  • Experience with Marketo or similar email automation tools
  • Previous software sales experience, preferably selling financial/accounting or complex business solutions
  • Understanding of cloud business applications from a platform and value proposition perspective
